Teams will explore exercises that encourage calmer search behavior while maintaining motivation and drive. Emphasis will be placed on reading canine body language, adjusting reinforcement strategies, and setting up searches that support safe, effective sourcing without unnecessary frustration. This class is appropriate for teams at any level who want to improve container search skills and create more consistent, trial‑ready searches May 19th- 7pm Destroying Distractions This one‑night special topic class focuses on helping dogs maintain focus and confidence while searching in the presence of distractions commonly encountered in training and trial environments. Teams will work through exercises designed to help dogs differentiate target odor from incidental odor interest, environmental factors, and purposeful distractions used in AKC and NACSW. Emphasis will be placed on supporting desired search behavior, encouraging dogs to work through distraction without conflict, and helping handlers recognize when interest is information versus avoidance or over‑arousal. This class is suitable for teams at any level who want to strengthen distraction resilience and create clearer, more consistent searches.
